Around Town: Independent Women Luncheon
The second annual Independent Women Luncheon to benefit the Phoenix Art Museum was held Mar. 6, featuring New York-based designer, author and world traveler, Charlotte Moss.
Sponsored by My Sister’s Closet, the event kicked-off with a VIP champagne reception with the award-winning Moss. After the reception, event chairs, Jane Jozoff, Ellen Katz, Sharron Lewis and Kathryn Petsas visited with guests until lunch was served.
The design committee co-chairs, Kim Barnum and Teresa Nelson of Nelson Barnum Interiors, topped the tables in “moss” themed centerpieces created by local designers, which were available for luncheon guests to purchase.
Co-chair, Ellen Katz, introduced guest speaker, Charlotte Moss, who spoke of the strong, independent and fierce women in fashion history who have influenced her 25-year career. Coco Chanel, Diana Vreeland, Elsie Wolf and Ann Bonfoey Taylor, were just a few of the 13 women who make Moss’ list. These women had style and independence, says Moss, but it was their sense of humor that made them interesting.
The afternoon concluded with a signing of Moss’ current and seventh book, Charlotte Moss Decorates: The Art of Creating Elegant and Inspired Rooms, which was available for purchase in the Museum Store.
